Marine Chartering

Vessel procurement run as a controlled, auditable process — market sounding to fixture, and through every post-fixture claim — on the client's behalf, with every owner compared on the same documented criteria.

01 — What is actually being decided

A fixture is a risk position, not a price.

The freight number is the last thing settled and the least of what matters. These are the questions answered before a vessel is nominated — and each one is priced into the outcome whether it was asked or not.

  • 01Which vessel classes can physically take the cargo — and which merely claim to?
  • 02Is this owner's tonnage available in the window, or is the offer speculative?
  • 03Does the freight level reflect the market, or the broker's position in it?
  • 04Where does the charter party place liability for delay, damage and deviation?
  • 05Are the load and discharge ports contractually compatible with the vessel's terms?
  • 06What laytime regime is being accepted, and what does an hour of it cost?
  • 07Which sanctions, flag and class exposures follow the owner rather than the cargo?
  • 08If this fixture fails, what is the replacement market and how long does it take?

02 — Process

Six stages, one auditable trail.

Competition is created deliberately and documented throughout, so every recommendation can be defended after the fact — to a board, an auditor or a tribunal.

  1. 01

    Market sounding

Reading the real position of tonnage against the project window, before any requirement is disclosed to the market.

  2. 02

    Owner pre-qualification

Identifying and screening owners and operators on fleet suitability, track record, flag, class and commercial standing.

  3. 03

    RFQ & tender management

Scope defined in technical terms, issued to a qualified field, with clarification handled on one controlled record.

  4. 04

    Normalisation & benchmarking

Offers reduced to comparable terms and benchmarked against the market — technical suitability ahead of apparent price.

  5. 05

    Negotiation & fixture

Charter-party strategy, clause negotiation and fixture support, with the liability position explicit at signature.

  6. 06

    Post-fixture

NORs, statements of facts, laytime and demurrage tracked as they accrue — not reconstructed once a claim lands.

Contact

Put the move on the desk.

Send the cargo, its origin and destination, and the window you are working to. The first reply sets out whether the move is feasible, the likely corridor, the main exposures and an indicative cost band — before anything is committed.
